Halloween: Revenge of the Final Girl

The above art work was part of a proposed pitch reel created by Federico D’Alessandro to direct Platinum Dunes Halloween remake. I saw the image a few years ago and really loved the ferocity of it and the lovely turning of the tables between prey and predator. Twilight poster and all, I liked that it turned what looked like an easy target likely and proved to anything but. The image gave me the idea to create a photoshoot around it. I partnered with friend and wonderful horror/ creature actor, Jamie Avera, who happened to have a connection at Trick or Treat Studios who created the mask. From there the equally talented Miranda Riddle and Bryan Carpender got on board to collaborate with us and see what we could create around this image. We envisioned her to be inspired by Laurie, a character who held fear, but wouldn’t let it rule her. We used LA’s Haunted Hayride sets during their 2019 season for many of the exterior shots, which really seemed to show Michael in his element. It was a fun way to pay homage to the film that was my “gateway drug in to horror” with putting a bit of my own flair on it.
